Nathan James Entwistle
Founder of CubTrack · writes the guides on this blog
I’m Nathan, a dad of two and the founder of CubTrack, a baby tracker made in the UK by OakFox Limited. I write the guides on this blog.
Why I built CubTrack
With our first, my wife and I tracked naps in one app and feeds in a WhatsApp group, and hit a paywall every time we wanted to see the whole picture. Then our first had a stomach issue and we were asked to keep a food and poo diary. Piecing that together from an app, a group chat and our own tired memories was genuinely stressful.
When we were trying for our second, I spent weeknights and weekends building the tracker we actually wanted. The first version was just for us, and it was ready in time for our second’s newborn weeks. About eighteen months in, it went on the app stores as CubTrack.
What I’m not
I’m not a midwife, health visitor or doctor, and nobody with clinical training reviews these guides before they go live. I’d rather say so than let a byline imply otherwise.
So the guides lean on the NHS. Where a guide gives an NHS figure, such as how often a newborn should feed or when to start weaning, it links to the NHS page the figure comes from so you can check it yourself. Where the NHS doesn’t publish a figure (wake windows are the big one), the guide says so rather than borrowing the NHS’s authority.
For anything about your own baby, your midwife, health visitor or GP comes first. If you’re worried about your baby’s health right now, call NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.
How these guides are written
I use AI to help write these guides. I pick the topics, usually questions I had myself or ones UK parents search for most, and AI helps me research and draft them. I then edit each guide, check its health figures against the NHS page they come from, and add the links.
Where a guide has been re-checked since it was published, you’ll see a “Last reviewed” date under its title. That date only changes when the claims have actually been re-checked, not when a link or a typo is fixed.
Why use AI at all? CubTrack is a very small company. AI lets me cover far more of the questions parents actually ask, in UK terms and against UK guidance, than I could write from scratch while also building the app.
