Nara Baby Alternatives UK (2026): Free Trackers Now Nara Charges

Nara Baby is no longer a free app. After a 7-day free trial, which starts when you log your first track, you need a monthly plan or a lifetime plan to add anything new. Nara's own FAQ prices them at $9.99 a month or $99.99 once, and the UK App Store lists them at £9.99 a month and £99.99 for lifetime.
If you don't pay, you can still view and export the entries you already have, but you can't add new ones. This post covers what the change means, who should simply pay, how to get your data out, and which trackers UK parents can move to. Full disclosure: we make CubTrack, one of the apps below, so we've kept the comparison to facts you can check in each app's own listing.
The short answer: if you rely on Nara's Apple Watch app, paying is reasonable. If you mainly want to log feeds, sleep and nappies with a partner for nothing, Baby Tracker (Nighp), ParentLove, Onoco and CubTrack all have a free tier that includes sharing. Export your Nara data first, whichever you choose.
Is Nara Baby free now? What changed and what it costs in the UK
No. Nara's FAQ says "Yes" to "Is Nara Baby a paid app?", with a monthly plan and a lifetime plan that include the same features. There are no extra tiers and no in-app purchases beyond those two. It gives one reason: "Charging a fee allows us to continue improving the app."
In pounds, the UK App Store listing for Nara Baby (checked 14 October 2026) shows Nara Baby Monthly at £9.99 and Nara Baby Lifetime at £99.99. The same list also carries older, cheaper price points (£6.99 monthly, and £49.99, £69.99 and £79.99 lifetime), so check the price on the paywall in your own app before you decide. Subscriptions are billed through Apple or Google, and Nara says it can't issue refunds itself.
We couldn't find a dated announcement from Nara, so we won't give you a date for the change. Nara's FAQ also doesn't say whether anyone who started on the free version keeps anything.
What happens to your data if you don't pay for Nara
You keep it. Per Nara's FAQ, after the trial or after a plan lapses you can still view and export everything you logged, but you can't add new entries until you subscribe or buy lifetime. Exporting doesn't need a subscription.
One thing to know about families: Nara says one payment covers your whole caregiver circle, and any adult member can pay. If the paying member's plan lapses, everyone in that app family goes read-only.
Why parents liked Nara, and why some are looking elsewhere
Nara was a well-made, calm app. It had no ads, tracked feeds, sleep, nappies, pumping and more, let you invite caregivers who get the same full access as you, and has Siri and Apple Watch support. For a long time it asked for nothing, which is why it spread by word of mouth.
The trade now is a trial, then £9.99 a month, or about £100 once. That is fair for a polished app, but it is a different proposition from "free", and a lot of parents who picked it because it was free are choosing not to pay. If you're one of them, you aren't doing anything wrong.
Is it worth paying for Nara?
Sometimes, yes. Pay for Nara if:
- You use the Apple Watch app. Nara includes Apple Watch and Siri in both plans. Nighp's Baby Tracker, for one, keeps its watch features in a paid tier, and CubTrack has no Apple Watch app.
- You've logged months of data and like how it works. Switching has a real cost, because CubTrack can't import a Nara export, and we haven't found an alternative here that advertises it.
- You expect more children. Nara says lifetime covers additional children, so £99.99 spread over two or three babies is a reasonable price.
Don't pay yet if your baby is a few weeks old and you're only logging feeds and nappies. A week or two in a free app teaches you whether you need a paid tracker at all.
How to export your data from Nara Baby
Do this before you do anything else, because you may want the record for your health visitor or for your own memory. Nara's FAQ gives these steps:
- Open Nara and go to the main Activity screen.
- Tap the avatar icon next to your child's name.
- Tap Export Data. Nara saves a CSV file that opens in Excel or another spreadsheet.
Nara's iPhone release notes for version 2.8.2 (25 September 2026) say it fixed "an issue causing new users to not be able to export data", so update the app first. Nara doesn't list the columns in the export, and its FAQ points to help@narababy.com for questions about the file.
The honest part: CubTrack can't import that CSV, and none of the other apps below advertises a Nara import. Keep the file somewhere safe, then start fresh. Your new tracker will learn your baby's pattern within a few days, and the history you need for your next appointment is the last week or two, not the last six months.
Nara Baby alternatives in the UK compared
We checked each app's UK App Store listing and the developer's own site on 14 October 2026. Prices are what Apple lists for the UK.
| App | What's free | Partner / caregiver sharing | Paid price (UK) | One-off or subscription | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nara Baby | 7-day trial, then view and export only | All caregivers on one payment, full access | £9.99 a month or £99.99 lifetime | Both | Apple Watch users |
| CubTrack | Feeds, sleep, nappies, predictions, PDF reports, no ads | One partner free, separate login, roles | Plus £4.99 a month (iPhone), £4.79 (Android) | Subscription | Free sharing and predictions |
| Baby Tracker (Nighp) | Core tracking, growth logging, PDF export, sync; has ads | Free, shared email and password sync group | Remove Ads £4.99; Plus £5.99 a month or £49.99 a year | Both | Long-running free tracker |
| ParentLove | Feeds, sleep, nappies, pumping, unlimited sharing and history | Free, unlimited | Pro £14.99, Pro Family £24.99, add-ons from £5.99 | One-off | Avoiding subscriptions |
| Onoco | Tracking, growth charts, unlimited caregiver invites | Free, unlimited, access levels | Premium £8.99 a month or £59.99 a year | Subscription | Nannies and grandparents |
| Huckleberry | Tracking and caregiver sync | Free sync across caregivers | Plus from £10.99 a month; £64.99 a year | Subscription | Sleep guidance |
CubTrack
We make it, so weigh this section accordingly. The free version logs feeds, naps and nappies, shares with one partner on a separate login (roles are Admin, Caregiver or Viewer), and includes feed and sleep predictions, medicine and temperature logging, growth logging and PDF reports for the health visitor. There are no ads.
CubTrack Plus is £47.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or £4.99 a month on iPhone and £4.79 on Android. It adds unlimited children and carers, full calendar history, smart next-feed and next-nap reminders and WHO growth charts. The free tier keeps 30 days of calendar history, the 7-day free trial comes with the yearly plan, and there is no Apple Watch app. Download it from the App Store or Google Play.
Baby Tracker (Nighp)
Its listing says "Baby Tracker's core tracking stays free", and the free app covers feeds, nappies, sleep, pumping, growth and PDF export. Syncing works through a group that one device creates with an email and password, and others join with the same details, so there are no separate logins. The free app shows ads; Remove Ads is £4.99. Nighp's developer page puts Apple Watch and Siri Shortcuts in the paid full version, and its new "What's Next" cues need a Plus subscription after a free 3-day preview.
ParentLove
The best fit if the reason you're leaving Nara is subscriptions. ParentLove's developer says sharing, unlimited history and multiple children are free, and upgrades are "pay once, yours to keep". The free version has ads, and CSV export is a paid add-on (£5.99, or included in Pro). Since you're about to export from Nara, that is worth knowing for the day you leave ParentLove.
Onoco
Onoco says its free tier "will always be free", with unlimited caregiver invites, access levels and a nanny account, so it suits a family with grandparents or a childminder. Premium (£8.99 a month or £59.99 a year) adds nap predictions, a routine creator and CSV export, and covers every caregiver. Onoco's own site shows £12.99 a month on its Premium page, which doesn't match Apple's list, so trust the price in the app.
Huckleberry
Huckleberry's free tier tracks sleep and feeding and syncs caregivers. Its sleep predictions (SweetSpot) are part of Plus and Premium, and in the UK Plus starts at £10.99 a month. Our Huckleberry alternatives post covers it in more depth, so we won't repeat it here.
Which Nara alternative should you pick?
- Want to pay nothing: CubTrack, Baby Tracker or Onoco's free tier. See our free baby tracker apps comparison for where each one draws the line.
- Want predictions without paying: CubTrack includes feed and sleep predictions free.
- Want no subscription at all: ParentLove's one-off purchases, or Nara's lifetime plan if you're staying.
- Several carers, such as grandparents and a nanny: Onoco or ParentLove free sharing, or CubTrack Plus.
- Need Apple Watch logging: stay with Nara, or check each app's watch support before you switch.
- Two parents, one phone each: our apps for both parents comparison goes through who gets what.
